Automotion Introduces Fully Automated Parking Garage In NYC

New Yorkers now have one less reason to complain about downtown parking congestion. Condominium residents at 123 Baxter Street have access to a fully automated parking system developed and installed by, well, Automotion Parking Systems. Residents drive their vehicle onto a ramp, swipe their ID card, exit the car, and wait for the magic to happen. As soon as the driver is out of harm’s way the parking system raises the car through a slot in the ceiling, navigating it’s way to one of 67 unoccupied spaces in the 27-foot high parking floor. A conveyor belt delivers the car safely into a parking berth. When the owner is ready to leave, he/she simply swipes the card again, and the system retrieves the vehicle. Pricing is competative to other New York parking garages. Check the link for a video that puts it all in perspective.
