Palm has become a shadow of it’s former self with more sales, rebuys, and splits then I have fingers to count. There are a few interested parties in purchasing the Treo-making company at around $20 a share, resulting in nearly a $2 billion dollar deal. Nokia is the name that pops up most often when rumors of this Palm sale are mentioned, but Motorola’s name isn’t far behind. Morgan Stanley has been charged with finding a buyer, and results are scheduled to be reported as early as Thursday. Who will end up owning the Palm brand, which has built a loyal Treo following? If Nokia purchases them, will we finally see a Symbian-powered Treo? Whoever buys Palm will have their hands full competing in the ever growing Smart Phone market.
