When the Microsoft Zune launched with WiFi capabilities, everyone was hoping that wireless music downloading, streaming, or something besides a 3 day/3 play DRM feature was going to be possible. Alas, Microsoft’s initial step into the MP3 market fell short of all of these capabilities. The WiFi was crippled and without knowing other Zuners, WiFi was pretty much a worthless feature.

Today SanDisk started shipping their new device named Sansa Connect which features 4GB of internal flash memory, a 2.2 inch TFT color screen, with microSD expansion allowing for up to 8GB. It allows you to do almost everything you wanted to do with the Zune. When in range of WiFi, you can connect with your Yahoo! ID and listen to LAUNCHcast radio, see what music your Yahoo! IM friends are listening to, and with Yahoo! Unlimited To Go service, download songs right to the device. This is the music device with all the features you’ve been wanting. It’s not an iPod, but with SanDisk’s 9% market share already, this device is sure to be a great seller.
