Disney Mobile, yet another MVNO using Sprint Nextel as their provider, has published the numbers for their GPS locater feature, and over 30% of the subscribers are using the GPS. Parents checking in on their children’s whereabouts happens on average once every other day. The split between users is about 56% adults to 44% children, with 1/3 of the children on the 200 minute "starter plan" for $25/month. While these numbers aren’t as large as most cell phone providers, this niche provider seems to of found it’s market. There’s something to be said for allowing kids to be kids, but if you find the need to keep an extra eye on where your children are hanging out, Disney Mobile is the provider for you.
