MySpace.com: Bug-Free Since 2003
According to the latest Alexa Traffic Rankings, MySpace.com is currently the fifth most popular website in the world.
The days of spending few bucks on IT and security while diverting 99% of your profits to the linings of executive coat pockets are long gone. As if it were a visual reminder every time I visit the most popular non-search website in the world and see that amazingly fresh design and those inspiring graphics, I can completely understand that MySpace.com still operates as if it were 2003; however they should recognize that they do, in fact, receive traffic from over 50 million people per day.
Needless to say, what prompted my little rant was my attempts at accessing MySpace.com earlier today – home screen came up, typed in my email address and password, and voila: "Server is too busy". They could have made the error message a bit more attractive, right? Atleast I’d feel warm and fuzzy about not being able to access my little place on the Internet, but instead I get that gloriously classic 24-pt Times New Roman bolded black font with white background summarizing MySpace.com’s shortcomings to the realization they need a bigger, better infrastructure to handle their sustained popularity within the global Internet community. Small companies just starting out could cop out and point to the increasing overhead and startup costs or perhaps the lack of venture capital recruitment and funding, and perhaps that’s something MySpace.com could have claimed in their infancy.
Hi, my name is 2007. Would you like to join me to see a new movie called ‘Modern Times’?
