Yesterday, the T-Mobile BlackBerry 8800 was launched and is only available online and through customer service. We’ve got our hands on one. It’s pretty much the same as the AT&T version with EDGE, QWERTY keyboard, multimedia player and the like. T-Mobile’s website has no mention of GPS on the 8800, and this has been a subject of some concern for some folks. You can put you’re mind to ease, this does include free unlimited use GPS tied into BlackBerry Maps (although we recommend you download MapQuest Mobile). Switching from one BlackBerry to another is simple with the included Desktop Manager. It is running OS v4.2.1.74.

At $349 for a new line of service or full upgrade discount, and $469 for a partial upgrade discount, this is quite more expensive then the AT&T model, which has been seen for around $75 on Amazon. It’s still the best BlackBerry available out right now, that is until the 8300 model launches.
