Americans Like Gadgets
According to a recent study conducted and published by the Consumer Electronics Association, the average American adult spends roughly $1,200 a year on gadget purchases. The report goes on to mention that most American consumers have an average of 25 assorted gadgets to their name. The top electronics growth areas for the past year were DVR’s, routers, MP3 players and modems. Routers huh? Rounding out the report, the CEA found that teens spend an average of $350 a year on electronics, which amounts to over half of their disposable income. Seeing as this is a national average, we suspect that the typical BGR reader spends a good deal more than $1,200 a year on various toys. Anyone feel like fessing up to their spending habits?
