Apple iPhone causing AT&T to lose sales

It looks like the iPhone’s impending release is cause a fair number of customers to hold off on their high-end phone purchases. According to Piper Jaffrey, AT&T retail stores are experiencing a significant drop in sales for their high-end handsets such the N75 Motorola KRZR, as well as smartphones including the Treo 750 and Samsung Blackjack. The investment firm didn’t seem to think that the current lull in sales was anything to be concerned about, attributing it to increasing demand for the iPhone, while upping their target price on Apple’s shares from $123 to $140. Seems like AT&T’s lack of business is translating directly into an increase in Apple’s perceived value. Now if only I had a similar relationship with Motorola…
