Sharp has just announced a new 4.3" industrial grade LCD, sporting a number features that are sure to make it a popular choice for manufacturers in need of an extra robust screen solution. The engagingly named LQ043T1DG01 increased brightness and contrast for enhanced viewing angles, uses a 16:9 aspect ratio, and 480 x 272 resolution. The screen consumes a remarkably small amount of power while providing enhanced performance in extreme conditions, including high and low temperatures. It’s currently quite expensive, wholesaling for around $142 a pop, so don’t expect it to show up in your run-of-the-mill consumer grade portable for quite some time, but if you’re heading to the South Pole, you might want to give this one another look.
