According to study commissioned by Sony, Internet radio is enjoying a rather shocking level of interest and popularity. The research found that one in three people listen to the radio by way of the internet, with the percentage increasing significantly among younger demographics. Of those surveyed, around 44% of people aged 24 – 44 listened to internet radio, with 31% of those apparently willing to buy into a subscription radio service if it provided sufficiently specialized programming. This information simply proves what we already suspect: Young people like the internet, a lot.
