Remeber PEZ? Those sugary little candies that popped out of a plastic rendition of your favorite cartoon character? They were a field day for collectors. In an attempt to revive popular interest in the brand and play on our trumped up feelings of childhood nostalgia, PEZ has released an MP3 playing candy dispenser. The PEZ MP3 player features are nothing to write home about, with only 512MB of flash memory onboard, but the initial limited run of 1,500 players comes chock full of candy cuts by Independent artists to sweeten the deal. The MP3 player also supports a variety of file formats, including MP3s and WMA/WMA-DRM files. The first run of this $99 player sold out almost immediately, but I can almost guarantee that you’ll be able to find a unit or two on eBay…just don’t try to eat anything that comes out of it. Electrocution doesn’t fit well with feelings of nostalgia and childhood glee.
