One of the biggest improvements in Windows Mobile 6 smartphone Standard edition is the ability to view and edit Office documents. Windows Mobile 5.0 allows smartphone users to view any Word or Excel doc, but has inexplicably locked out any sort of editing capability. Realizing the error of their ways, Microsoft has graciously opened up editing capabilities (although shockingly still doesn’t allow for the creation of new documents) in the newest version of their mobile OS. This is all well and good, but unless you’re a T-Mobile Dash owner, the powers that be are still trying to keep your document editing desires at bay. Enough! Some clever souls have extracted the Pocket Office suite from Windows Mobile 6, and made it available as a .cab file for all to download. It purportedly works like butter on Windows Mobile 5 smartphones but, as always, we make no claims of support or success. Hit the link and edit away.
