TSA compromises its own security

The Transportation Security Administration, keepers of American safety, the protectors of freedom, seems to have committed a rather grave security breach of their own. It seems that the agency has somehow "misplaced" a hard drive that contains the personal information of over 100,000 TSA employees. The hard drive has a wealth of sensitive data on it, including social security numbers, names, bank routing numbers, and much more. Among the 100,000 employees are all of the U.S. Air Marshals, whose identity has, at least until now, remained a guarded secret. The TSA doesn’t seem to know if the drive has been lost, stolen, or detained by nefarious characters, but this type of negligence is unacceptable, and downright scary. Let’s just hope that the data has been encrypted somehow, though that would seem to require a significant level of common sense…Second thought, what do we care? BGR staff travels private anyway.
