You’ve got to give AT&T credit for trying to make a mountain out of a molehill here. Earlier today the enslaved Apple iPhone wireless partner announced their "brand new" AT&T 8525. Product announcements are fun, but there doesn’t appear to be anything new here aside from a little AT&T badge in place of the orange splat. Oh, they also give you a factory installed version of the updated ROM that’s been official for a couple of weeks now. In case you don’t remember, the ROM update provides Push to Talk capabilities. Yep, you know all three of you out there use it! They also include  Mobile Music and Video, formerly known as Cingular Music and Cingular Video. The long and the short of it is that if you’re a current 8525 owner, there is zero reason to buy this "updated" version. If on the other hand, you’re currently pondering a purchase of HTC’s 3G capable powerhouse on AT&T, the time is now.
