Nokia N76 Unboxing

Awww man damn!  Nokia’s slimmest handset to date got people waiting, and waiting, not much unlike it’s N75 brethren. Yet here it is, stripped to the battery and unboxed! The Nokia N76 enters the market with two color choices and Nokia is trying to tell us something — it can make thin handsets, with the same build quality that everyone loves. They don’t fail necessarily as this might be personal preference, but we didn’t fall in love with this one like I myself have with the N95. The Series 60 OS on here is zippy, and the design is fantastic — it is just too darn big! It looks like you’re talking on a butcher knife. When opened the device is incrediblyl slim, when closed it isn’t the thinnest handset you’ll find. The outside screen is very much like the N75, yet offers a "mirror" finish complete with outer MP3 control keys. The keypad itself takes a cue from the Motorola RAZR with metal-etched keys complete with the same RAZR-ish lime green backlighting. What good is a phone if you keep hittin’ the wrong buttons right? Keys are spaced out pretty well here, and you shouldn’t find yourself dialing your mother by accident after you get used to it. The camera onboard is a standard 2 megapixel shooter, with a nice added feature of using the outer screen as the viewfinder when the phone is closed. Since it is an N-Series "multimedia computer", Flickr uploading from the phone itself is supported. Call quality is pretty good, with the actual reception even beter. One thing however, is that the sound is a little hollow, with a lower volume level that we would have liked. The same goes for speakerphone and the regular outside speakers. If you still find yourself intrigued, then by all means jump on over to the Nokia N76 gallery! We’re going to rate the Nokia N76 at 3 BGs. It lacked a little "umph".
