Sharedview public beta goes live
Microsoft launched a closed beta for a new screen sharing program at the end of March. Codenamed "Tahiti," it allowed for up to 15 users to "listen in" on a single user’s desktop screen, exchanging files, tutorials, product demonstrations, and much more. Sort of like Adobe’s current Breeze web-based meeting interface. The public beta of the product, now officially named Sharedview, just went live. Now open to anyone that doesn’t mind acting as Redmond’s guinea pig, Sharedview offers a number of potentially exciting features for anyone working in a decentralized capacity. Any of the 15 participants can be granted control over the shared workspace, with video and audio chat onboard for future release versions. The current beta looks promising, and it will be interesting to see if this manages to develop into legitimate competition for the Adobe Breeze user.
