If you’ve been deliberating about buying a new Blu-ray player for your home theatre, you’ve probably learned a couple of things. First: Blu-ray players are expensive. Second: Blu-ray movies ain’t cheap either. Thankfully, Panasonic seems to have addressed both of these concerns with their recent update to the DMP-BD10, with the aptly named DMP-BD10A. Initially launched as a high-end, high-cost Blu-ray player, the BD10 was lauded for it’s excellent converters, stylish exterior, and eye-gouging $1,300 price tag. Panasonic has decided to relaunch the player at a far more palitable $600 price point, and bundle it with 5 "free" Blu-ray discs, including Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. Pirate jokes/overkill aside, this is a pretty sweet deal. If you need a quality Blu-ray player, and don’t mind having every Pirates of the Caribbean movie ever made, look for this to be available in the very near future.
