Is it a bad sign that a lot of the most exciting designs these days are developed by independent third parties and have no hope of ever reaching production? Perhaps, or it could be that amazing looks generally translates into "impossible to manufacturer." Whatever the case, the Slider Multimedia Player is one dope looking little PMP. The slider form factor is generally reserved for the mobile phone market, making this device both unique and attractive. The concept calls for video and audio support running off of a flash memory base, and battery recharging by way of the headphone jack a la the iPod Shuffle. The control system slides out from under the way too tiny screen, revealing a simple 4-way navigation system. Given the white exterior and blue splash screen, it seems like this one might be a good fit for Helio, that is if they ever decide to expand beyond their uber dope MVNO status into the uncharted territories of the personal media player market.
