When the Apple TV first dropped, fanboys everywhere lamented the lack of an open platform, claiming that the product was useless and closed to third party developers. While it is true that Apple doesn’t officially support any outside software or plugins, creative minds everywhere have been banding together to make the Apple TV a more pleasant and diverse product. The latest plugin to grace the wireless media hub is one that allows for YouTube addicts to get their fix without leaving the couch. The plugin, aptly named "A Series of Tubes," allows anyone with an Apple TV and a bit of tinkering know how to watch any YouTube video they please. The downside? YouTube’s 480×360 resolution looks pretty horrible on a standard set, let alone "upscaled" to HD resolution. Hit the link to see this baby in action.
