What used to cost $2k and required hardware and software could now cost as little as $100. Dubbed the "Custom Search Business Edition" of Google’s search engine technology, a $100 annual contract will allow the tech to search up to 5,000 websites, and a $500 version will yield you 50,000. Google currently has a free version of the same integration, but it requires ads to show up, whereas this new version would allow for ads to be blocked. Win-win? You’ll have to decide, but there seems to be little downside. It’s a cheap, ad-free version for websites, and it utilizes technology Google already has in play, while generating a potentially new revenue stream. Look for "Custom Search Business Edition" to roll out Tuesday.
