Gateway seems to be the sleeper company of the year, bringing some seriously OK designs and products to the market, seemingly out of nowhere. The company has just announced a new 30-inch monitor and, lo and behold, there’s some pretty exciting stuff in there. The biggest news is that the monitor supports resolutions of up to 1600p, making your current 1080p screens look like last year’s news. The display also features 6 independent inputs, including HDMI, DVI, S-Video, Composite cable input, and VGA. Pretty crazy, right? Finding such high resolution video might be another story, but if you can’t track down any 1600p shots, rest assured that that it also upscales any existing 1080p video that you might have laying around the house. All told, this is shaping up to be quite the display. It’s currently available for $1,699 directly from Gateway.
