Hulu launches in beta with NBC, Fox content
For NBC and Fox, no more YouTube. No more iTunes. Now, their focus is their own joint-venture video sharing service, called Hulu. In it, you’ll see shows and movies for free, but ad-supported, from NBC, Fox, Sony, and MGM. A big downer is that any movie content that’s available will be edited-for-television. Ugh. The good news is, the content will be made available through various other portals, including AOL, MSN, Yahoo, and MySpace (which is owned by Fox-owner News Corp). The website launch is still in beta, and you can sign up to be a part of it by jumping over to hulu.com. It will also give you an idea of what their initial offering of shows will include.
