Skype releases beta software mass-market handsets

Skyping from your lowly non-Windows Mobile phone just got a lot easier. Skype has just released an official mobile client that supports supporting over 50 handsets. Specific phone models aren’t listed, but the press release promised support for phones from Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson. Not bad at all. The new software reportedly allows for free Skype-to-Skype calls, and allows you to utilize Skype-out for all of your landline needs. We haven’t had a chance to test it out just yet, but we’re assuming that you’ll need either Wi-Fi or a 3G connection to carry on an intelligible conversation.
