European countries seem to be getting all the little surprises these days. First Germany gets its hands on the BlackBerry Curve 8900 with no warning and now Spain gets a little treat of its own – kind of. Here’s the good news: Nokia’s Spanish site has just unexpectedly made the 5800 XpressMusic available for pre-order. The bad news? The 5800 is listed at €429 as opposed to the very reasonable €279 Nokia announced the handset at. For those keeping score at home, that’s roughly a 54% premium. Umm Nokia, what’s up? If announced prices mean nothing, why not just go nuts and announce your next Nseries flagship at $100? We’re not sure what Nokia’s reasoning is for this pretty drastic price hike is, but 54% is quite an early adopter tax if Nokia is still planning to release the handset at €279.
