Today, Twitter announced that they are launching their very own “Tweet Button.” The new button: “Lets you share links directly from the page you’re on. When you click on the Tweet Button, a Tweet box will appear — pre-populated with a shortened link that points to the item that you’re sharing.” The service will replace the more common and widely used tweet-button created by TweetMeme. Twitter has licensed some of TweetMeme’s technology and have announced that they are “working closely” with the company, and that TweetMeme’s site will now point to the new official Tweet Button. Hit the jump to check out a video of how the new Tweet Button is going to work.
