German court deals Apple a setback in patent battle

It appears that there is a limit to the amount of damage Apple (AAPL) can inflict on Android OEMs after all. The Associated Press reports that the Mannheim state court in Germany ruled on Friday that neither Samsung (005930) nor Motorola violated patents used for technology in Apple’s touchscreen devices. The AP says that the German court ruling follows similar judgements against Apple in both the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Apple can appeal the ruling within 30 days if it wants to.
