9to5Mac points out that Taiwanese Apple (AAPL) blog Apple.pro has posted some grainy pictures of purported iPad mini shells that are likely fake but are nonetheless intriguing. Why are they likely fake? As 9to5Mac notes, the purported iPad mini shells seem to lack a spot for a camera, which seems highly unlikely to say the least. Apple.pro has had some scoops on Apple hardware in the past, however, so these leaked images can’t be dismissed entirely. A possible explanation: they’re mockups built from leaked specs to help certain third-party case designers get a leg up on the competition, so the size and shape could be accurate. More images follow below.
