AT&T (T) on Tuesday said that workers in California, Nevada and Connecticut have all started strike actions to protest lack of progress in contract talks, Reuters reports. Unions in the three states decided to strike despite the fact that AT&T had come to a tentative agreement with unions in several southern states about a new contract that covered wages and pensions for around 22,000 workers. AT&T hasn’t given any indication yet as to how these strikes will affect services in the three states.

UPDATE: AT&T says that it has reached handshake deals with workers in several states and not just those in the southeast. Included are “tentative agreements in the Midwest Region… covering nearly 18,000 wireline employees” and “an agreement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers on a one-year contract extension covering nearly 7,000 wireline employees in the Midwest region.”
