Time Warner will invest $25 million to expand its NYC fiber network

Fiber — it’s not just for Kansas City anymore. The Wall Street Journal reports that Time Warner Cable (TWC) plans on investing $25 million to expand the reach of its fiber network in New York City as part of an agreement with the city to improve high-speed Internet access. But unlike Google’s (GOOG) fiber network in Kansas City, the Time Warner fiber network will be targeted primarily toward businesses that use large amounts of data, including tech and design companies in the Brooklyn area.
