New iPod touch will feature high-res 1136 x 640-pixel display, 32-nanometer A5 chip

Not to be lost in all the iPhone 5 hype is the fact that Apple (AAPL) is also planning to release a new iPod touch on Wednesday that will represent a significant upgrade over previous models. And according to mobile consultant Will Strafach, the new iPod touch will feature a sharp display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels and the same 32-nanometer A5 processor found both the second-generation iPad and the Apple TV. Strafach notes that the processor used in the new iPod touch will be less powerful than the one featured in the next-generation iPhone, however.
