New iPod touch now hitting Apple Stores, preorders begin shipping

Apple’s (AAPL) fifth-generation iPod touch didn’t get much attention when it was unveiled late last month since the new iPhone 5 was clearly the star of the show. With the Cupertino, California-based company’s new iPhone now well on its way to becoming the best-selling smartphone ever, Apple has begun fulfilling preorders of its new iPod touch according to 9to5Mac, and the media player is beginning to arrive in Apple Stores as well, as Engadget’s Richard Lai reports. Apple’s fifth-generation iPod touch features an all new design including a faster processor and a larger 4-inch display. Separately, a number of reports on various forums suggest Apple’s new iPod nano is arriving in retail stores as well.
