In our review of the TELUS MILESTONE we lamented Motorola’s decision to digitally sign the bootloader which makes rooting quite difficult. Thankfully, over the past couple of days there has been a lot progress within the Android community and root access for the TELUS MILESTONE has obtained by way of a Brazilian sbf. Alongside today’s release of Android SDK 2.0.1, Verizon Wireless has announced that an OTA update for the Motorola DROID will be available “within the coming weeks.” What’s in line to be fixed? Voice reception and the 5 megapixel camera’s nearly legendary inability to focus on subjects, amongst other things. We’re downloading it now, but woweee, it’s 250MB! Anyone care to comment? Even with all the languages included the biggest build we’ve ever seen was around 210MB…Post will be updatedOk, so far we’ve found 2.0.1 to be extremely more stable. This includes fixing the keyboard lag some users experienced, a speedier OS in general, and it seems to have fixed the god-awful contacts lag.
