According to a T-Mobile spokesperson, T-Mobile is suspending the sale of the Nokia 5610 XpressMusic handset and recalling the entire 5610 inventory, including floor demos and literature, from all stores and warehouses. The issue appears to be a manufacturing problem that affects the display. Anyone whose phone experiences any problems can bring their defective 5610 into a store and get a Nokia 6301 or 5310 as a replacement. Depending on which replacement model was selected, customers will also get a $50 or $25 credit. Kudos to T-Mobile for not turning a blind eye and actually pulling a defective phone but really, T-Mobile, the replacements you offer could include at least one of those hot new handsets hitting your this holiday season.

The Nokia Xpress Music 5610 is now available from all of T-Mobile’s physical and online retail channels. The handset sports a 3.2 megapixel camera, dedicated music player rocker key, included 2GB memory card, and shiny aluminum side panels. It’s certainly not the most advanced handset on the market, but for $99 this represents one of the better values in T-Mobile’s current lineup. Not surprising for a phone at this price point, but still not such a good thing for such a music-focused handset. If that’s not a deal breaker for you, however, head on down to your local T-Mobile store and swoop up one of these bad boys.
