After launching on Boost Mobile last month, the Motorola i1 is hitting Sprint on July 25th. The touchscreen offering will be the first Android handset with Nextel Direct Connect and the first Direct Connect handset with a 5 megapixel camera and video recording. This rugged handset is sure to please the construction crowd with its: 3.1″ HVGA display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, a 2.5mm headphone jack, military ruggedness for dust, shock, vibration and rain, and Android 1.5 — not to mention the suite of available business tracking and job workflow applications including Xora mobile workforce management tools, TeleNavTrack, and Sprint Mobile Locator. The i1 will launch through direct ship, business sales, telesales, and web sales next Sunday and will hit the remaining channels on August 8th for a reasonable $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year commitment.

UK retailer John Lewis, self-admittedly, compiled a list of the “noises we’re hearing from suppliers” and guesstimated the initial specs for the fourth generation iPod Touch. The retailer postulated that the upcoming iPod Touch refresh will feature a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with HD video capability and built-in flash, YouTube uploading, accelerometer, and gyroscope. The portable multimedia device will also reportedly include FaceTime calling over WiFi, which suggests the inclusion of a front-facing camera and iOS 4. If this handful of rumored specs pans out, the next generation iPod Touch may share many of the desirable features of the iPhone 4, a product development pattern that has been observed in the past.

The Android-powered Motorola MT810 is suffering from an identity crisis as it begins to make its unofficial rounds in China. According the latest rumor, the handset we thought was the MT820 is now being referred to as the MT810, and as the tipster points out, the name discrepancy is secondary to the new photos and specs provided in the this leak. Thanks to this anonymous tipster from IT168, we can add microSD expansion, a single SIM slot, 1140 mAh battery, OPhone 2.0, and a 5 megapixel camera with 720p recording, autofocus and LED flash to our list of suspected features. That MING-style flip design may also have lost of a bit of its luster as the rumor suggests that it is not an innovative 3D display but, rather, a dual screen with a capacitive overlay on the outer flip and a resistive screen on the body of the phone. A somewhat tame version of the X6 has been announced by Nokia today and will become available this quarter. The new 16GB X6 has half the memory capacity of the 32GB version, and it’s also missing the Comes With Music feature. If you think you can live with that, the 16GB X6 has an impressive battery life of 11.5 hours talk time and 18 days of standby, 4.5 hours of video playback and 35 hours of music playback. Of course, Nokia doesn’t cut any corners with cameras on its high-end devices, and this one features a 5 megapixel shooter with Carl Zeiss optics and a dual LED flash — pretty much par for the course on Nokia devices these days. The new X6 also has in-phone video editing capabilities and TV out support so you can watch your amateur cinematography on a big screen. No details on pricing, but we’d imagine it to be less than the full-fledged 32GB version.

Samsung doesn’t have much in the way of sneak peeks at CES, but we did manage to catch a glimpse of two international handsets. First is the Omnia Pro or Samsung B7610. The Omnia Pro doesn’t look too much like its cousin, the Omnia II, and it features a slide out QWERTY keyboard. It’s also a Windows 6.5 device that has a front-facing camera for video chat. Unfortunately, the only carrier in the U.S. that supports video chat of any kind is AT&T and it’s only one-way video chatting. We’re also looking at a 5 megapixel camera, 800MHz processor, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, push email support and a 3.5″ AMOLED WVGA display. The other touch screen phone from Samsung is the Samsung Jet. It’s smaller than the Omnia Pro and it bears a striking resemblance to the Omnia 2, yet the OS is different. Featuring a blazing fast 800MHz processor, Wi-Fi, one-finger zoom, DivX and XviD support, it’s also packed with a 5 megapixel camera, face and blink detection, MS Exchange ActiveSync, 3.1″ AMOLED display and a 3D user interface. Don’t get us wrong, it’s a pretty swanky phone, but honestly, it doesn’t really get us excited. If you’re looking to swipe one of these international devices, our pick would be the the Omnia Pro.

The wait is finally over: T-Mobile has just announced the Motorola CLIQ pre-order details as well as pricing. So, exactly when can you get your hands on Motorola’s come-back device? Presale orders start for existing customers on October 19 and goes through to November 1. The device will be hitting stores and be made available online the day after presales end — November 2. Unfortunately, those “free” rumors turned out to be, well, rumors as T-Mobile and Motorola are expecting $199 with a new contract and a data plan that starts at $24.99 per month (don’t forget data plans for smartphones are mandatory for T-Mobile, as if you’d buy this phone without one). With a 5MP camera, a nice UI and support for up to 32GB of memory expansion, it’s definitely a nice handset. We’re just not sure the pricing is correct… What do you guys (and girls) think?

Back in August, we told you about this pretty Samsung making its way to T-Mobile. Well, now there are release dates and pics galore! Apparently called the “Behold” rather than the “Tocco” (both ridiculous names, really), this 5 megapixel camera phone will be hitting T-Mobile on November 10. Word on the street is that the damage will be $149, but we’ve yet to confirm if that is post-rebate or not, but you can bet the attractive pricing is going to involve a contract. Also, here’s a quick reminder regarding some of the specs in case you forgot or were wondering what such a bargain phone could offer:

• Front-facing secondary camera
• GPS WITH voice command
• Streaming video support
• Video ringtone support
• Capacitive touchscreen

A few photos of a new 5MP Sony Ericsson Cybershot have been leaked by Cellphonesail. The new phone appears to be similar to the current C902 Cybershot with updated software (Java Platform 8.4, also on their much anticipated, much delayed 8MP C905). The mid-range phone is expected to have the following specs:

• 5 megapixel Camera with Xenon Flash, Auto Focus, and Smile Shutter
• No front camera for video calling
• Switch button between Still & Video as well as a button to access gallery of images you just taken
• No GPS
• EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA (at least)
• Sony Ericsson’s Java Platform 8.4

We may see this phone announced sometime in October and released by the end of the year (we wont hold our breath) for about €300 ($450). Enjoy!
