Samsung’s partnership with fashion designer Armani continues with the appearance of the rumored Armani W820/8200. The gold-trimmed slider features a 3.1-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, HSDPA, T-DMB, Bluetooth, 5 megapixel primary camera and a secondary front facing camera for video calling. The phone will reportedly launch in Korea some time in the near future, though timing and pricing are both unknown for the time being. We’re sure pricing will be nice and elevated but truth be told, this could be a sweet little phone. Let’s hope Samsung issues a version without the gold trim — you know, for those of us with self respect.

Did you vomit in your mouth just a little? Yeah, so did we. One would think that Emporio Armani would have learned its lesson from the lambasting it took for its Samsung Night Effect, but they’re admirably persistent. We wonder what kind of deal was struck up between Motorola (who probably snubbed Dolce & Gabana by warming up to another designer) and Emporio Armani… “We’re designers, but we really don’t want to design a new phone. We failed, so can you just slap our logo onto one of your boring, overpriced phones and just make it that much more expensive? Thanks.”

No news on when this might be available or where it will be released, but hey, if you have to ask…

Gah! What on earth is this? Not happy with the original success, or major lack thereof, of the original Armani phone, Samsung and the apparently gaudy designers are at it again with the “Night Effect.” The name may seem appropriate as it probably looks better “last night than it did this morning,” if you know what we mean. The phone is a quad-band EDGE/3G unit with a 3.2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, FM Radio, blue wrap around light (to match the ground effects lights on your car) and rockin’ a measly 120MB of internal storage with the capacity for more via microSD card. Pretty run-of-the-mill if you ask us but it will show up in Europe this November with South East Asia and the Middle East to follow shortly. Still, if you must get one to match your BMW, gold chains, and silk sports coat, there’s always the unlocked phone market.
