Life’s a bitch and so is karma, but AT&T is hoping to change that with the Motorola Karma QA1. A goofy looking dumb phone that bears an uncanny resemblance to the Somerset, the Karma is a media-centric device that has home screen access to both Facebook and MySpace as well as support for email, IM, MMS and threaded SMS. In terms of hardware, the quad-band EDGE/dual-band HSDPA Karma packs a sliding QWERTY keypad, 2.5-inch QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera, aGPS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, 3.5mm headphone jack and 100MB of internal memory with microSDHC support (up to 16GB). The Karma will be available online and in AT&T stores on the 28th of this month for $79.99 on a 2-year deal after a $50 mail-in rebate. Any takers?

We gave you a list of upcoming phones a while back and one of them included the V9x. Well, from the looks of it, it began shipping right on time. For those of you who are big Moto fans and you liked the RAZR2 V9 but hated the color, here’s your chance to pick up a slightly better version. Not only is it a sexier look with that clean black, but it also now has built in GPS. You know, so AT&T can bang you for another $9.99 every month. The large external display apparently also shows the GPS function, which is cool if you don’t want to hold your phone flipped open while painfully making your way to your in-laws’ house. Expect to see the same features you would find on the original V9 such as 3G and CrystalTalk technology (which actually works very well). No word on pricing for this Charcoal model but we’re guessing it should be sub-$200.

Tired of your phones cracking right in half? Maybe you should start checking out some military-spec grade devices. AT&T and Samsung are set to launch the a837 in the coming weeks, and we’ve just got a flood of pictures and specifications. Here’s a breakdown of the specs:

At least the military-spec phones are finally getting a much needed hardware bump, right? This thing isn’t exactly a looker, but with pretty limited choices on AT&T, this might be one of your only hopes. We’ve heard this model is set to directly compete with Verizon’s Casio G’zOne phones, and be comparible in terms of pricing. Look for it priced from $99-$150 starting around September 15th, though we’ve heard pre-orders might be starting on the first of the month.

TeleNav Navigator AT&T Navigator has recently been updated with expanded coverage for international navigation. You can now use your supported handset to find your way around any of 20 different foreign countries, all for the low price of $19.99/month. 20 countries isn’t the most comprehensive collection of nations we can imagine, but it’s a decent start. The list includes a number of western European countries, as well as many locations near the Olympic sites in Beijing, China. $20/month isn’t bad, and until we can get some turn-by-turn support on our new iPhones, we’re pretty confident that Telenav AT&T Navigator is one of the best handset-integrated solutions out there.
