The Motorola EX225 has been revealed by the Bluetooth SIG and images of the phone show a dedicated Facebook button. The EX225 looks nearly identical to the HTC Status and, like that phone, is expected to offer a fully Facebook-integrated user interface, a 2.4-inch touchscreen display and a full QWERTY keyboard. In August, a report suggested that AT&T was going to discontinue the Status after the phone failed to attract a substantial customer base but AT&T immediately dispel the rumor, stating “The HTC Status is a great product and our plans for it to be part of our portfolio haven’t changed.” Now, it looks like other companies will try to follow HTC’s lead. A second image of the EX225 suggests Motorola also has plans for a version of the phone without a Facebook button, and that version could launch as a dual-SIM device. The second image follows below.

Samsung’s first Windows Phone “Mango” device has been listed by standards body Bluetooth SIG as the South Korean electronics giant prepares to lead the pack when Mango phones begin launching this fall. Details surrounding the smartphone are not available for the time being, though the model number SGH-i937 has already been confirmed as the Windows Phone-touting successor to the Samsung Focus, which carried the model number SGH-i917. WMPoweruser.com speculates that the device could feature a case and specs similar to the Galaxy S II — Samsung’s fastest-selling smartphone of all time — but that speculation appears baseless. It looks like Samsung will have stiff competition from Nokia when Mango phones finally hit store shelves this fall, so Galaxy S II-like hardware would definitely help the manufacturer’s cause.

We know, we know — how can we possibly get excited about an upcoming Symbian smartphone from Nokia when the OS is currently sitting on death row awaiting execution? The answer, unfortunately, is that we can’t. Typical consumers likely won’t share the same sentiment, however — especially those looking for entry-level smartphones on the cheap. For the budget-conscious crowd that isn’t at all OS-conscious, we offer up your first look at the Nokia C5-04. Little is known about the upcoming c5-04, but the listing on the Bluetooth SIG site notes that it is headed to the North American market. Add to that the unmistakable presence of a T-Mobile logo on the face of the phone and it’s pretty safe to say it’s destined for T-Mobile USA. Specs are expected to be in line with the C5-03, which is anything but impressive but very affordable.

The LG C900 has been outed by a Bluetooth SIG filing as having a September 28th launch date here in the U.S. The C900, which will be released by carrier AT&T, is a Windows Phone 7 full-QWERTY slider device that will be LG’s first swing at a WP7 handset. The handset will also be released internationally as the C900B, C900K, and C900N. The device certainly has been making the rounds in the last few days. We were dropped a tip of the devices existence, shortly after Engadget was sent an image (seen above), and now this Bluetooth SIG filing has been released. What do you think? Thanks to Bluetooth SIG, today we’ve learned about a brand new Android handset from Motorola. Formally known as the XT502, its pals call it the Greco. Running an unspecific version of Android, the Greco is known to have Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, Wi-Fi, aGPS, quad-band EDGE and tri-band HSDPA (850/1900/2100MHz). Now considering the fact the model number starts off with “XT” we’re fairly certain that this phone is headed to China, but the inclusion of AT&T friendly 850 and 1900 MHz 3G means it’s possible we might just see it Stateside.

Bluetooth SIG announced on Tuesday that the much anticipated v4.0 update to the Bluetooth protocol will be finalized and sent to manufacturers by the end of June 2010. The next iteration of the mobile connectivity protocol will feature ultra-low power consumption that could theoretically be powered for years by a coin-celled battery, faster transfer rates, and an increased range that can extend up to 200 feet and beyond. These features could expand the practical usage of this technology to a new range of devices including sports and fitness products, personal health products, security products, and home entertainment systems. Look for Bluetooth v4.0-enabled devices to hit the retail market in late 2010 or early 2011.

By meticulously sifting through all of the information available on the Bluetooth SIG website, it’s possible to learn about handsets before their existence has been announced by manufacturers. Once in a while however, the grunt work is done for us and someone will jump the gun by publishing some information before it’s ready to go. This is exactly what Bluetooth SIG did on its Twitter account when it linked to information about the upcoming Samsung B7620 which, according to Samsung Hub, will be Sammy’s second Giorgio Armani-branded handset. Just like the suits made by its namesake, the Armani 2 looks as if it is shaping up to be a great little handset with specs that include a 800MHz processor, Wi-Fi, aGPS, FM radio with RDS, business card scanner, “Work & Life” mode, Office Mobile and support for just about every audio and video codec under the sun. In other words, apparently it will make the first Armani phone look like A|X.

The Bluetooth SIG group may have just given us the briefest glance ever at a new HTC Android phone. HTC’s anticipated 2009 lineup has been revealed and some handsets detailed but no mention had been made of the HTC Fiesta, suggesting that this is a new phone slated for a 2010 rollout perhaps. All we can glean from the Bluetooth SIG approval information is that the handset is made by HTC, will have Bluetooth and it will target Asia, Europe and North America. Oh, and will rock Android. Let the rumors and speculation begin.
