Sprint’s first 4G LTE device will be the Sierra Wireless Tri-Network mobile hotspot, SprintFeed reported on Tuesday. The device was originally announced at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, but was overshadowed by the Galaxy Nexus and LG Viper. The Tri-Network hotspot can support up to eight simultaneous data connections using 3G, WiMAX or LTE connectivity. SprintFeed’s sources were able to confirm that the hotspot is scheduled to be released on May 18th, although pricing and data plan information is not yet available.

According to a new tipster of ours, yes. Apparently emails have been sent to some higher-up employees at Verizon detailing a systems upgrade. The purpose of the upgrade, you ask? Apparently to make it possible to provision and activate 4G devices. A direct quote from the email looks like this: “The ESN/MEID field will be changed to Device ID effective Sunday to prepare for 4G devices coming on.” This could mean a little quicker deployment of Verizon’s upcoming LTE network, but it’s entirely possible they are just getting their ducks in a row. You know, so you can start ruling the air.

Well isn’t this interesting. One of our TELUS ninjas just sent us some snapshots of the TELUS inventory system which now lists both the HTC Touch Pro2 World Edition and the HTC Snap World Edition. This is the first time we know of that either of these devices have shown up in a carrier’s inventory system. While nothing is confirmed, we have to think we’re looking at EV-DO Rev. A for both handsets along with dual-band GSM as the World Edition moniker implies. Beyond that we’re guessing they tout pretty much the same specs as their respective GSM counterparts. As always, we’ll dig as deep as we can to get more information and report back ASAP.
