It has been a month since we have heard anything new about the Sony Ericsson C510 “Kate”, the low-end Cybershot Sony has on tap for 2009. It was only a matter of time though – some fresh new pictures of the C510 have emerged and SE-fan enthusiasm for this phone has been renewed. It looks sweet and, hopefully, this low-end phone will carry a low-end price tag to make it even sweeter. For those in need of a refresher, the C510 will have the following features:

Slowly Sony Ericsson is lining up its early 2009 Cybershot portfolio as the first of the three expected Cybershot phones, the Sony Ericsson Kate, has reportedly been given the real name C510. The C510 will be the least-capable model of the three upcoming phones, sporting a 3.2MP camera instead of the 5MP camera found on the candybar Filippa and the high end slider Frances. The Kate / C510 will offer up the following features:

Add another to the list of phones recently approved by the FCC, this time ’round it is the Sony Ericsson C905 slider . With its 8MP camera, 2.4” scratch-resistant mineral glass display, quad Band GSM, tri-band HSDPA, and Wi-Fi under the hood, this is sure to be an overpriced awesome SE Cybershot phone. Betcha cant wait to snag this one from your local SonyStyle and snap your first 8MP camera phone picture. Wonder what that picture will be? The sidewalk as you walk out the door, a loved one or a family pet, or maybe a spy shot (that you will send to BGR) of the Sony Ericsson X1-HD with its 3.8″ touchscreen, thin slider body, 12MP camera, and Android powered OS. Yeah, we know such a phone doesn’t exist but we can dream can’t we?

A few photos of a new 5MP Sony Ericsson Cybershot have been leaked by Cellphonesail. The new phone appears to be similar to the current C902 Cybershot with updated software (Java Platform 8.4, also on their much anticipated, much delayed 8MP C905). The mid-range phone is expected to have the following specs:

• 5 megapixel Camera with Xenon Flash, Auto Focus, and Smile Shutter
• No front camera for video calling
• Switch button between Still & Video as well as a button to access gallery of images you just taken
• No GPS
• EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA (at least)
• Sony Ericsson’s Java Platform 8.4

We may see this phone announced sometime in October and released by the end of the year (we wont hold our breath) for about €300 ($450). Enjoy!

Leave it to Sony to put 720p HD recording into the hands (or shall we say, the pocket) of the masses. Starting tomorrow the 29th, Sony’s latest addition to their Cybershot line of Point and Shoot cameras, the DSC-T500, will be available for pre-order. This 10-megapixel camera will record wide and full-screen 720p video at 30 frames per second in fine, standard and VGA recording modes. It also will support zoom while in the recording mode and will record in the MPEG4 AVC/H.264 format. Up to 10 minutes of video (cool!) can be recorded at a time to a 16GB Memory Stick (lame!). Can’t decide whether you want to record video or images? No worries, you can do both. The camera has a mixed recording mode that allows you to record video and snap 3 photos at the same time without interruption. The T500 will also feature a 3.5 inch transflective LCD touchscreen, Carl Zeiss lens with 5X Optical zoom, and sensitivity up to ISO3200. It is expected to retail for approx $400 and will ship in Late September. Not too shabby for a pocket camera.

Yeah, and you thought the current bumper crop of 5-megapixel camera phones was impressive. According to the Unoffical Sony Ericsson Blog, SE is getting ready to unleash this 8.1 megapixel beast on an unsuspecting public. The C905 is a Cybershot camera phone with a pretty impressive “trick” up its sleeve. In addition to the Herculean megapixel count, the new flagship SE Cybershot phone sports GPS, HSDPA, ActiveSync Exchange support, Wi-Fi, an accelerometer, 2.4″ QVGA screen, and much more. No word on pricing, but expect this bad boy to be announced on the 17th of June, alongside a host of other upcoming SE phones.
