Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs spoke at the event numerous times, last appearing at the D8 conference two years ago. Remember those rumors about Apple holding a mid-to-late January event in NYC? Well, invites just went out to media, and focus is on education as some had rumored. We’d imagine one of the event focal points to be on reinventing and transforming the textbook industry.Developing…

T-Mobile and Nokia announced a special press event that will be held on December 14th at 7:00 p.m. The event could result in the first carrier launch of a Nokia Windows Phone in the United States, and early rumors have suggested it might be a version of the Nokia Lumia 710 that launched in Europe a few weeks ago. It’s all speculation for now, but it looks like we’re going to get our first taste of Nokia’s plans for the U.S. a little bit earlier than expected. We’ll be covering the even...

Spotify announced on Monday that it will hold a press conference on November 30th in New York City during which the company’s CEO Daniel Ek, and “special guests,” will discuss “what’s next” for the company. It’s entirely unclear what the event might cover, given the service only recently launched this summer in the United States. It is possible the Spotify will announce an iPad application, although that might be too minor an event to warrant a press conference. Perha...

If you’re just waiting to blast some Beats audio-laden tunes from HTC’s latest and greatest, November 3rd will probably be a good day for you. That’s the date on the invitations HTC just sent out to the media, and we’re expecting the company to announce the HTC Rezound, also known by the code-name “HTC Vigor” for Verizon Wireless. The device should feature a 4.3-inch 720p HD display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera and, of course, Beats audio...

Motorola has just sent out invitations to a press event with Verizon Wireless on October 18th in New York City, and if a variety of leaks over the past few weeks are accurate, we should see some awesome new hardware unveiled. There should be multiple updates to the Motorola XOOM tablet, a Motorola XOOM 2 and a XOOM 2 Media Edition, as well as a new Motorola DROID HD (Motorola DROID RAZR) — a set of next-generation devices that will get any Android fan worked up. We’ll be there covering it live, so ma...

It’s official: Apple’s brand new flagship handset, the iPhone 4S, is here. While confusion was sprinkled throughout the industry on exactly what Apple would announce, most seemed to agree that the iPhone 4S would be the smartphone that Apple ultimately would unveil. The iPhone 4S features an upgraded Apple A5 dual-core processor that is twice as fast at executing tasks, and it offers performance up to 7x better than the previous iPhone in terms of graphics. Even with the increased performance of t...

Amazon sent out media invites on Friday for a press event that will be held in New York City on September 28th. The invitation does not provide a hint toward what will be unveiled during the presentation, although we expect the company to finally take the wraps off of its first Android tablet. The most recent rumors have suggested that Amazon will undercut the price of the iPad by hundreds of dollars, and Amazon could price its tablet in the $250 range. We exclusively reported that Amazon was working on an en...

We just spent some quick time with the HTC Rhyme here at HTC’s event in New York City. The device is sleek, reasonably thin, and feels good in your hand. It’s soft-touch coated and obviously is geared towards more of the female audience with the fashion-focus and color, though the phone itself doesn’t alienate anyone. Specifications are on-point with a mid-range smartphone, and the docking station and other accessories round out a decent package. We’ll have to see how interested consum...
