Sprint on Wednesday announced that its upcoming flagship Android smartphone, the HTC EVO 4G LTE, will become available on May 18th for $199.99 on contract. While Sprint doesn’t yet have a nationwide 4G LTE network to support the new One-series smartphone, subscribers will find plenty of cutting-edge technology to tide them over until Sprint begins flipping the switch on LTE. Key features of the new phone include a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, an 8-megapixel camera w...

HTC and Sprint have a big press conference scheduled to take place this evening, and all signs point to a new flagship smartphone. Persistent rumors suggest the flagship HTC One X will be the star of the show, and with specs that include a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, a remarkable 8-megapixel camera, Beats Audio and 4G LTE on board, there’s no question it would make a great star. A recent report suggests the One X could launch on Sprint later this year as the EVO On...

The wait is over — Sprint’s brand new EVO 3D Android smartphone and EVO View 4G tablet are now available to all customers. The EVO 3D, which offers a glasses-free 4.3-inch 3D display, 4G WiMAX connectivity, a 1.2GHz processor, and the ability to record 1080p video, is available for $199.99 with a new two-year Sprint contract. We ran our review earlier this month and called it our “favorite Sprint phone, hands down.” The EVO View 4G, which we also recently reviewed, is powered by a 1.5GHz p...

Sprint’s flagship EVO 3D hasn’t even made its way out of the womb yet and its successor is already official. HTC on Thursday unveiled the EVO 4G + in South Korea — odd, since “EVO” is a Sprint brand. The new superphone is essentially a Sensation in EVO’s clothing, and it features a 4.3-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera, HTC’s latest Sense UI and, of course, 4G WiBRO connectivity for the South Korean market. Expect that BRO to be MAX’d when the 4G + makes its way t...

HTC EVO View 4G review

Sprint took the wraps off of its EVO View 4G tablet during CTIA 2011 in March — the device is nearly identical to the HTC Flyer, save for its support for Sprint’s 4G WiMAX network. As an Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) tablet, the View 4G is a bit less versatile than Honeycomb products from Asus, LG, Motorola, and Samsung, but it does offer HTC’s custom Sense user interface catered to tablets, and support for HTC Scribe stylus input. I thought the Flyer was lacking in a few areas when I reviewed it, b...

Sprint on Monday announced pricing and availability for the two latest addition to its successful EVO line of Android devices. Both the HTC EVO 3D and the HTC EVO View 4G will become available on June 24th. The EVO 3D, which will retail for $199.99 on contract, features a 4.3-inch qHD 3D display and a class-leading 1.2GHz dual-core processor atop Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The glasses-free 3D display is a first among devices offered by U.S. carriers, and the phone will also be compatible with Sprint’s 4G ...

Sprint’s HTC EVO View 4G  could land on June 24th — the same day the EVO 3D is set to make its debut — according to an advertisement obtained by Engadget. The 7-inch tablet is nearly identical to the HTC Flyer we recently reviewed, save for its 4G WiMAX radio. It packs a 1.5GHz processor, HTC’s Sense user interface, a 1.3-megapixel forward facing camera, 32GB of storage, 3G/4G hotspot capabilities, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 4,000 mAh battery in a sturdy aluminum uni-body package. According to a RadioShack advertisement spotted by Phandroid, the store could begin shipping the highly anticipated HTC EVO 3D from Sprint on June 24th. The retailer began quietly taking pre-orders on May 17th, which suggests an imminent release, so June 24th certainly seems like it’s in the right ballpark. When it launches, the EVO 3D will be the first 3D smartphone to land on a carrier’s shelves in the United States. We were impressed with the glasses-free 3D display during our hands-on at CTIA ...

We just got off the phone with a number of RadioShack locations, and each one has confirmed that the retailer is now quietly taking pre-orders for Sprint’s HTC EVO 3D. We were told that, interested users should rush to the store as pre-order quantities are very limited. Employees did not confirm when the EVO 3D would be available for pickup, although we suspect it won’t be a very long wait. Best Buy also began taking pre-orders earlier this month, but it too neglected to reveal when the phone woul...

Here’s a head-scratcher. We’re hearing rumors that Sprint’s HTC EVO View 4G tablet will not, repeat not, ship with the snazzy HTC Scribe stylus. A report from Engadget on Friday indicated that the HTC Flyer tablet — the EVO View 4G’s generic sibling — will include HTC’s digital pen unless the device is purchased from Best Buy. Our own source, however, has indicated that Sprint’s training materials list the EVO View 4G’s Scribe stylus as being “sold separat...

HTC Kingdom and Rider Android phones spotted

Here are a couple of leaks to kick off your Friday morning: the HTC Kingdom (left) and the HTC Rider (right) were both spotted and photographed recently by 911Sniper. Specs for the Rider and the Kingdom are slim, so we can only report on what’s apparent in the images. Both phones clearly run Android and appear to have 4.3-inch 960 x 540 qHD displays, although even that’s not confirmed. The circles around the main icons on the Rider remind us of an EVO device (perhaps this is Sprint bound?), and we...

In case you haven’t heard, Android is kind of a big deal. Some research firms say it’s already the world’s top smartphone operating system, having recently passed Symbian’s quarterly sales pace for the first time, and just about every firm on the planet is predicting that Android’s market share will continue to grow for the foreseeable future. And it’s not just hot air — Google on Thursday during its first-quarter earnings call revealed that daily Android activations ha...

Sprint site states HTC EVO View 4G will launch with Honeycomb [updated]

What do we have here? It looks like our friend, the HTC EVO View 4G, is being marketed with Google’s tablet-specific, Honeycomb (Android 3.0) operating system on Sprint’s official web site. Prior to this discovery, or snafu, the 7-inch tablet was expected to ship with Gingerbread — HTC’s site still lists the device as having “Android 2.3 with HTC Sense for tablet.” While the inclusion of Honeycomb would be great, we’re not sure how much sense (pun intended) it makes.
