A new Motorola iDEN phone has just been approved by the Federal Communications Commission. The phone is referred to by two names in FCC documents — the i475 and the i235 — and offers a candybar form factor with a full QWERTY keyboard. As expected, it features push-to-talk support and offers Bluetooth connectivity, 2.5mm headphone jack, camera, speakerphone, and an FM radio. Motorola has yet to officially announce the phone. It’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything about the Motorola DEFY; a rough and rugged Android handset we first told you about in August that was announced just last month. But that all changes today. T-Mobile has announced, via Twitter, that the 3.7-inch scratch-resistant, touchscreen device — which also boasts a 5 megapixel camera with flash, DLNA support, FM radio, Wi-Fi Calling, and GPS — will be available for $99 with a 2-year contract starting on November 3. Not a bad little ...

Hot on the heels of the Mini and GT350, LG announced the GS500 Cookie Plus. Carrying on in the tradition of the plain old Cookie which sold some 10mm units world-wide, in reality the Cookie Plus aims to please with a “cartoon-like UI” complete with 18 blinding themes, a 3 megapixel camera enhanced by the devices ability to edit pictures before firing them off as an MMS (this should thrill paranoid, sexting weary parents), FM tuner, all the social media support a tween could ever hope for and dozen...

Covet your costly and feature-rich touchscreen phones as you wish but in this day and age, forking over big bucks for a phone just isn’t always the smart way to go. While this may be one of the facts of life, carriers such as Orange are doing their best to deliver feature-rich handsets at low prices. One such device is the newly announced Orange Vegas. Available in both black and pink, the dual-band GPRS touchscreen device features a 2.4-inch display, 1.3 megapixel camera, FM radio, MP3 playback, 128MB ...

Sure the Samsung Memoir might have been the first 8 megapixel to be carried by T-Mobile, but considering what we thought of it we’re really counting on the Sony Ericsson CS8 to restore our faith in simple phones with beefy cameras. So take it as a good sign that the Cyber-shot branded CS8 just passed through the FCC — now you’re one step closer to having it accompany you to the beach on a hot Summer day as you take photos of bikini-clad girls while cowering behind an ice cream stand. Other t...

It looks like Nokia has something pretty interesting planned for the US market as an FCC filing has revealed a mysterious dual-sliding CDMA handset. Featuring what appears to be a 3 megapixel camera on the rear in addition to a microSD slot and 3.5mm headphones, the device supports EV-DO Rev. A connectivity along with Bluetooth 2.0 (with A2DP) and an FM transmitter. No word yet on whether or not this will be an S40 or S60 handset, but it does seem to have some of the physical hallmarks of an Nseries device. U...
