Need a new phone to take to college that’s easy on the wallet and relatively easy on the eyes? Then perhaps we can interest you in two new Samsung feature phones that are all set to make their Big Red debut on September 8th. First up, the u960 Rogue, which features a touchscreen display, landscape-slider form factor, full-QWERTY keypad, 3 megapixel camera, GPS and EV-DO connectivity. Next is the u450 Intensity, which has a sliding QWERTY keypad, 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth. The cost? $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate for the Rogue and $29.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate for the Intensity, both on a 2-year contract.

It looks like all you Samsung Glyde fans who have struggled through the handset’s touchscreen issues will soon have another Sammy to complain about drool over. Looking quite sharp with its black and silver exterior, the Samsung Rogue sports a touchscreen display, qwerty keyboard, Bluetooth, GPS, a 3 megapixel camera and EV-DO Rev. A support. According one of our trusty ninjas, Rogue shipments are arriving in Verizon stores now for a launch that is imminent. Hit the jump for a few more closeups and keep those fingers crossed in hopes that this Samsung slider is free of the issues that have plagued similar offerings.

If the BlackBerry Tour isn’t your particular brand of vodka and the various other QWERTY handsets on Big Red’s menu don’t rub you the right way, the nation’s biggest carrier may have something right up your alley coming down the pipe. According to a post from last night, Howard Forums member StandardsDT decided to go all 007 on his friend and snap a few stealth pics of the unannounced Samsung Glyde 2 when the poor guy left the room for a moment. Our guess is his friend won’t be overly happy when he sees the pics strewn across the internet, but we’re plenty happy to ogle them regardless. Not much is known about Samsung’s upcoming Glyde 2 for the time being beyond the big bright touchscreen display (AMOLED we imagine), the side sliding four-row QWERTY and the familiar TouchWiz UI. StandardsDT believes the handset has an on-screen QWERTY keyboard and an accelerometer for orientation awareness as well, though it doesn’t work in all areas of the UI. Release date? Pricing? Just a few days ago, Verizon pulled the brakes on the Samsung Glyde stopping all sales and pulling units off the shelves for unspecified issues (we think they were turning into evil Transformers, but that’s just us). Whatever the issues were – whether it was the screen, new bugs or network issues, it has all been resolved by a simple software update. It seems like a complete halt of sales was pretty drastic because the Glyde was back in business in no time after the halt of sales was called. So if you have the Glyde and are suffering from bugs and general problems with the phone, your software update is on the way some time this week.
