The Android-powered Motorola MT810 is suffering from an identity crisis as it begins to make its unofficial rounds in China. According the latest rumor, the handset we thought was the MT820 is now being referred to as the MT810, and as the tipster points out, the name discrepancy is secondary to the new photos and specs provided in the this leak. Thanks to this anonymous tipster from IT168, we can add microSD expansion, a single SIM slot, 1140 mAh battery, OPhone 2.0, and a 5 megapixel camera with 720p recording, autofocus and LED flash to our list of suspected features. That MING-style flip design may also have lost of a bit of its luster as the rumor suggests that it is not an innovative 3D display but, rather, a dual screen with a capacitive overlay on the outer flip and a resistive screen on the body of the phone. Motorola potentially has not one, not two, but count em’ three China-bound handsets up its sleeve. First and foremost, we have the initial details on the Motorola XT711, codenamed the Sholes Tablet Refresh — the presumed companion to the previously released, Korea-bound Motorola XT701 Motoroi. The XT711 will feature: an 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with Xenon Flash, 720P HD video capture and playback, HDMI out, Google apps and Android marketplace, MotoBlur UI, WebKit browser with Flash integration, and the Android OS (presumably 2.1 or greater). The targeted market for this little beauty is China, and is set to launch at an undisclosed point in the future. One down, two to go. Hit the jump for details on the XT810 and the XT820.

Second, and most mysterious, is the Ming-like clamshell that made its first appearance in a handful of blurry images last week. Though details are still sparse, the handset may be the MT810, a TD-SCDMA handset headed to China Mobile. The MT810 may also be the little brother to the MT820, another Ming-like offering whose hardware is revealed in stunning clarity.

The MT820 appears to be a very polished handset with a Ming-style transparent flip that is rumored to sport a visual 3-D capability as detailed in a recent patent application. On a more realistic note, and out of the sci-fi realm, the transparent flip may also be present for protection, or as a secondary touchscreen in a dual-touchscreen design. What we can infer from the leaked images is that the handset is destined for China Mobile and, as a result, will rock TD-SCDMA 3G connectivity. The MT820 is expected to be announced in the very near future and will run the Android-based Ophone 2.0 platform. Don’t swear-off your DROID, BACKFLIP, or CLIQ XT quite yet..this piece of mobile hardware, showcased in the images below, is also expected to stay exclusively in China.

It appears Motorola isn’t willing to part ways the MING smartphone design as a pictures of a previously unseen Android smartphone with the iconic design have emerged out of China. Pretty much everything about this phone is a mystery, although it is rumored to be codenamed North Sea, run Android 2.1 plus MOTOBLUR 1.5 and feature a 5 megapixel camera that can shoot videos at resolutions up to 720p. Interestingly, there appears to be not one but two status bars which could mean this is a dual-SIM device. Not that this would be a huge surprise given the prevalence of such devices in China, it’s just that we’ve never seen such an Android phone from a big-name manufacturer. Would anyone be super sad if this thing is confined to China?

Across the ocean in a land far, far away, the Motorola A1200 “Ming” was a pretty big hit for Moto back in 2006. So what happens when Moto has a hit on its hands? Exactly. iDNES has seemingly managed to get its collective hands on a round of mockups and preliminary specs for the upcoming Ming sequel, the A1210. The design of the handset is unmistakably Ming, as is the Linux OS and the transparent flip. Other reported specs include a slightly beefed up 2.8-inch 240×400 TFT touchscreen, 3.1 megapixel camera, FM radio, Bluetooth, 64MB of internal memory, a microSD slot and a TI OMAP850 processor under the hood. Dimensions are said to be 102 x 53.8 x 20.5 mm, slightly bigger than the A1200 which came in at 95.7 x 51.7 x 21.5 mm. The Ming was imported into the US pretty often but if this report pans out, lack of the 850 MHz GSM band will surely keep it abroad for the most part. Then again, maybe Moto has a US version in mind. After releasing some touchscreens from LG and Samsung, Verizon is going to carry the Moto ZN4, or “Krave”. It certainly looks a hell of a lot like the Ming A1200 with the clear flip and the earpiece almost magically floating in that clear piece of plastic. Oh wait, we had one of these! The phone sports a 2 megapixel camera and is pretty standard with EV-DO Rev A, Bluetooth, HTML browser, microSDHC (always a good thing) and support for VCast Mobile TV. At the attractive price of $149 after a $50 mail-in-rebate, and the gimmicky-ness of the clear flip where most consumers hadn’t seen or heard of the Ming, this could be quite a nice dumbphone for VZW. Next up is the VU204 which is just a basic flip phone. Any phone marketed “Buy 1, Get 3 Free” is not going to be the most spectacular product out there, but for those who usually opt for the free or cheapest phones on new contract, this is a pretty decent option. At $29 after $50 rebate, all the features are what you’d come to expect from such a phone: VGA camera, 160×120 display, and Bluetooth. Pretty blah, we say. Motorola, care to cut back on the boring factor?

Ooooh! It’s purdy and shiny. Yes, yes, y’all — another Motorola scoop. This time, we’re switching gears from non-autofocusness to touch screens. There’s also very little doubt the Motorola Blaze isn’t coming to Big Red. Seeing as how, you know, it’s plastered all over the thing! Big Red being Verizon for all you slow pokes.

The handset takes design cues from a number of Motorola products. It’s odly a MING crossed with a PEBL crossed with a RAZR 2. Yeah. There’s a custom OS just for Verizon (did you really think they were done junking up their devices with that red theme?) and it works decently. It’s by no means a smartphone here. The mobile web browser is ok, and that’s being super nice. Texting or writing emails with the touch screen keyboard a la LG Voyager is bland, hard to use, and frustrating. Additionally, the phone has Haptic feedback but you have to press the darn touch screen so hard you feel like you’re going to break it. Specs we found? 2 megapixel camera, EV-DO Rev. A support, GPS, Bluetooth, MobileTV, and the regular standard feature set. Best part of the phone so far? While limited, you can use the device with the flip closed. Actually kind of cool. In a really not cool sort of way. Lastly, there’s no clue as to whether the much rumored visual voicemail is in here, but we’d guess that’s not going to make it in until the last second. What a week for an almost-perfect Motorola device announcement, right? Motorola has announced the MING A1600 and A1800 with remarkably little fanfare. Spec wise, both handsets are relatively the same, both sporting GPS, touchscreens, Linux, A2DP, 3 megapixel camera, and more. The CDMA/GSM hybrid A1800 sports support for two simultaneous network connections, while the GSM-only A1600 tops out at EDGE. Why, oh why, is Moto crippling their GSM handsets with lowly EDGE connections? The Chinese target market is certainly part of the problem here, but you’d think they would at least, make some effort at a global launch with HSDPA support. Ah, we know! Because their MOTOMAXG OS doesn’t support 3G. That’s right! No pricing or release date info is available, but we wouldn’t hold our breath either way.
