A refresh of the now aged MacBook Air line is almost a foregone conclusion at this point, with Apple’s “Back to the Mac” event scheduled to take place later this week. As iPhone 4 pre-orders kicked off, visitors to Apple’s website were greeted with a teensy surprise this morning, as the Mac mini has received its long-rumored long-efresh. Milled out of a solid chunk of aluminum, $699 base model comes with an 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, 320GB HDD, and a NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics card. This morning we showed you an image of what might just be the Mac mini refresh after it was leaked around the interwebs last night. Skeptics across the web immediately dismissed it as a laughable Photoshop job and went to great lengths to prove their point. We were skeptical as well of course, but we still couldn’t dismiss it entirely. Sure it was a little blurry and the Firewire port and five USB ports might have been hard to swallow, but it’s now looking like the image could indeed be authentic....

Late last night a photo that is purported to be of the butt-end of the upcoming new Mac mini surfaced on the internet causing quite a fuss within the Apple community. Starting with the most glaring specs we see there are five USB ports, one FireWire 800 port, Mini DisplayPort, Mini DVI and last but not least an RJ-45 ethernet connector.
