According to a purported leaked T-Mobile document obtained by TmoNews, the carrier will offer an unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling add-on for $10 a month starting April 4th. “Beginning April 4th, T-Mobile will offer Unlimited Any Mobile, a $10 per month subscriber-level feature that includes unlimited calling to any domestic mobile number, including Puerto Rico, regardless of carrier,” the document reads. The carrier claims that 80% of calls made on its network are to mobile numbers, making such an add-on appealing to subscribers looking to save money.  The feature will be available as an add-on for existing customers, and it will not require a new contract. Unlimited out-of-network mobile calling is nothing new; Sprint bundles a similar offering with its unlimited everything plans and AT&T has an add-on as well. AT&T will be launching its Unlimited Messaging with Mobile to Any Mobile plan tomorrow. Just ahead of the launch, BGR has acquired an internal AT&T memo that details exactly what customers will have to do to qualify for said plans. Spoiler alert: not much. Surprisingly, there isn’t any fine print with AT&T’s latest offering. Customers with individual, post-paid lines costing between $39.99 and $59.99 per month are eligible for the unlimited texting and mobile to mobile offer — individual plans over $59.99 include unlimited calling. Customers with family, post-paid lines costing between $69.99 and $109.99 per month are also eligible for the offering — family plans over $109.99 *drumroll* include unlimited calling. That’s pretty much it… no red tape. Who’s jumping on this tomorrow?

There have been rumors floating around the internet about Verizon Wireless offering a second, “tiered” data plan, and that rumor was confirmed today. America’s largest wireless provider will begin offering a $15 monthly data plan to 3G smartphone users that offers 150MB data allowance. The carrier will bill overages at $15 per 150MB and the $30, unlimited data plan will remain unchanged.

Also hot off the rumor wagon, Engadget is reporting that Verizon is testing calling plans with unlimited, any-mobile-to-mobile minutes — a la Sprint — in select markets across Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas. The plans range from $60 all the way up to $130 — offering between 450 and 2000 minutes — and include unlimited text messaging. The unlimited mobile-to-mobile offerings are available until the end of 2010 at which point, we assume, Verizon will either expand or cancel the plans depending on demand.

Verizon is offering a very interesting new cellular plan “for eligible consumers in select Texas and Louisiana markets” coined “Unlimited Any Mobile plans.” The press release reads:

Eligible consumers may sign up for a single line Nationwide Unlimited Talk plan that allows the customer to call and send text, picture and video messages to anyone in the United States regardless of service provider for $59.99-$79.99 monthly access. Nationwide Family SharePlans will also have the new Unlimited Any Mobile plan options for $99.99-$129.99 monthly access.

Current customers are eligible to move to the new plan without penalty and without having to renew their contract. The five plans available look like this:

Single Line Plans:

• 450 minutes for $59.99
• 900 minutes for $79.99

Family SharePlans:

• 700 minutes for $99.99
• 1400 minutes for $119.99
• 2000 minutes for $129.99

You qualify for one of the new plan if you have a phone number with the 210, 214, 254, 318, 325, 361, 430, 432, 439, 469, 512, 682, 806, 817, 830, 903, 915, 940, 956 or 972 area code. A Verizon spokesperson would only say that the offerings “are promotional plans specific to some customers.” Here’s to hoping that the unlimited mobile calling plans are wildly successful and propagate throughout the country. Would anyone else like to see these plans expanded beyond Texas and the Bayou?

For only $69.99 per month, Anytime offers up unlimited minutes to any US-based mobile in addition to unlimited data, SMS, MMS, Sprint TV, GPS navigation and more. The catch? You only get 45o minutes of good old fashioned land line calling. If that rubs you the wrong way, Sprint will be more than happy to take another $30 off your hands and bump you up to the truly unlimited Simply Everything, which of course will afford unlimited, well, everything. So is this the “wireless revolution” Sprint promised to premier customers yesterday? We’re not sure about that, but it is most definitely a plan no other major carrier can come close to matching for the time being. So for that, Sprint, we applaud you. Golf claps.

Verizon Wireless is moving right along with its integration of Alltel. As of yesterday, January 16th, Verizon Wireless customers can now call and text message certain Alltel customers for free as part of Verizon’s IN Calling and IN Messaging. To find out if the Alltel number is supported, Verizon customers can go to Verizon’s new Mobile to Mobile web page. Unfortunately, Alltel customers will continue to be billed according to their current plan for calls placed to Verizon customers until the two companies have merged operations. Starting February 15th, Verizon will also drop the “IN” moniker and rename the service as Mobile to Mobile calling and Mobile to Mobile messaging. Say goodbye to all those catchy “IN” slogans!
