While Motorola announced a “before-the-Holiday” release time frame for the Motorola CLIQ, we’ve been able to confirm that units will be shipping out to T-Mobile corporate stores, warehouses/fulfillment centers on or around September 29th. Do you know what that means? We’ve been told that the Motorola CLIQ will pop it’s head out for a mid-October launch on T-Mobile. We don’t have pricing details at the moment, but you can bet your bippy it will won’t be above $199 with a 2-year, possibly lower. We’re working on getting supporting materials, but this is pretty much a go!

We’ve known for quite some time now that Motorola is going to be hitting Android fast and hard, but there’s nothing like hearing it straight from the horse’s mouth. Moto (so far) seems to be completely targeting a very important demographic that Android hasn’t yet hit.

10:53: Moto will definitely be going global with Android and Blur handsets though — many more to come in 2010. In 2009 it looks like it might just be the CLIQ, which will be called the Dext on Orange UK, Telefonica Spain, and America Movil.

10:51: Spec highlights include 3G, WiFi, 5MP cam with a/f, 24fps video and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

10:50: The CLIQ is the first US handset that will have Android and the BLUR UI.

10:48: Wi-Fi calling is supported (UPDATE: sorry, we misheard Jha. UMA is not supported on the CLIQ), and of course it’s super-focused on social networking. Available in Q4 of this year. Colors: Winter White and Titanium.

10:47: On to devices! First up, the Motorola CLIQ for T-Mobile.

10:45: If your device is ever lost or stolen, you can locate it online and wipe the handset as well. When you get a replacement device or new device, it gets set up exactly like the lost one since everything stored on server. Sweetness.

10:44: From contacts you can see latest info as contacts update various social networks — also when people call you, you can see contact info, picture, status update info, etc… all that stuff.

10:42: Homescreen widgets update live, including a “happenings widget” that covers all your SoNets.

10:40: One tap access for social network status updates — update directly to MySpace, Facebook and Twitter out of the box.

10:38: Jha is getting into MOTOBLUR now (umm, who called it?). BLUR is Moto’s UI built on top of Android. Everything is front and center, and very accessible… Live widgets on a customizable home screen and so on.

10:23: Hello Moto! Things are just about to kick off and this room is jam-packed full of anxious press/bloggers. Senor Jha best not disappoint!

Well what do you know? Just two days ahead of Motorola’s official entrance into Android land, two XML handsets profiles have been unearthed. Basic specs are really all we can glean from device profiles and in that regard, neither handset appears to be anything particularly special. Listed as the MB200 and MB300, each handset sports a Qualcomm MSM 7200A processor — likely clocked at 528MHz — powering a 320×480 pixel touchscreen display and GSM/WCDMA radios. The MB300 includes a 5 megapixel camera while then MB200′s shooter is apparently too insignificant to be referenced in the profile. As for what these handsets will materialize as, the MB200 is most likely the Morrison. The MB300 is a bit more of a mystery for the time being, though it could end up being the Calgary (100% speculation). We suppose it could also be a GSM variant of the Motorola Sholes, though “A855″ and “MB300″ aren’t very suggestive of twins. The bottom line is that all will be revealed on Thursday and we’ll be on hand as the drama unfolds.

T-Mobile might not be the fastest draw in the West but that won’t stop manufacturers from sprinkling some 3G dust on Tmo-bound handsets any time soon. In fact, three such phones just pushed their way through the FCC approval process and one is of particular interest — but we’ll get there. Let’s start with the fugly flip phone seen above. Reemphasizing our point that LG shouldn’t be tarnishing the Viewty name with a 2 megapixel shooter, this entry level handset from Nokia features a clam shell form factor, a 3.2 megapixel camera with an LED flash, AWS 3G and not much else to speak of. The second handset is also of Nokia pedigree, though nothing is known for the time being beyond the RM-511 model number, clam shell form and the presence of AWS. Last up, and of interest as we mentioned above, is the Motorola T56KV1 — which we know to be the Morrison. “How,” you might ask? Well, it already passed through the FCC back in July. We suspect that new documentation tied to July’s tests has just had its confidentiality lifted ahead of a likely announcement next week, hence the new round of excitement. In any event, 3G-hungry Tmo subscribers will apparently have three new options in the coming months, and options are never a bad thing.

Everyone is waiting for Motorola to finally start dealing a few Android-powered handsets and it looks like we’re now a big step closer to seeing one of its first offerings. Hardly the most interesting Moto/Android phone we’ve been privy to, the Morrison is shaping up to be a budget-friendly Android phone aimed at the younger, message-hungry tweenish demo. Apparently this little guy’s guts are sound as the FCC has just cleared it for takeoff, though we still don’t know when Moto will finally push it out. Known specs include quad-band GSM, tri-band 3G (including AWS/1700MHz for T-Mobile), a camera with video capture support, stereo Bluetooth, multimedia player and voice control. We’ve already commented on how much we love the color scheme but even that likely won’t be enough to hold our attention for more than a few hours at best. We’re not worried though, and you shouldn’t be either — trust, Moto has some sexy Android kit coming down the pipe in the near future.

We love Motorola as much as the next tech site and it looks like Moto loves us right back. In what is reportedly the first live shot of Motorola’s upcoming Android handset, known now only by the codename “Morrison”, Moto’s upcoming device is dressed in some sexy, sexy colors. White and royal blue… BGR approves. Of course it’s entirely possible that Moto’s adoration of BGR had nothing at all to do with the Morrison’s design, but we’re going to go ahead and stick to our original story. Yeah. Beyond its dress, the build on the Morrison doesn’t appear quite up to par with other Motorola handsets coming down the pipe so it could be a safe assumption that we’re looking at a very affordable price point here. Of course there is no way of telling if the image above is of a production model — or even if it’s real — so that’s just speculation for the time being. Excited? Hey, at the very least we won’t have to send ours to ColorWare once we get our hands on it…

Earlier this month we confirmed Motorola has a QWERTY slider, codenamed Morrison, headed to T-Mobile this October — now thanks to T-Mobile’s Android roadmap we see that the Morrison will indeed be packing Android. Joining the likes of Calgary and IRONMAN, the Morrison will be one of several Android-powered handsets issued by Moto this year. Hooray QWERTY! Not much else can be said about this sleek-looking Moto for the time being but if history has taught us anything… We should be learning plenty more about this handset soon enough. According to our Walmart roadmap the Morrison should touch down sometime in October (for $148 on contract from Walmart), giving Android lovers plenty of time to consider it for the holidays.

So check this, our brothers and sisters at TmoToday broke news of this second iteration of the T-Mobile G1 aka Bigfoot (aka Morrison according to the Walmart roadmap). But we’ve uncovered something very sexy — an awesome image! Full slide-out HTC-style QWERTY? Check. Look for this to drop in October for $148 with a 2-year agreement at Walmart (so, $149.99 on T-Mobile then?).
