When we first caught wind of Sprint’s HTC Touch Pro2 pricing, we had to do a triple-take. As we just confirmed with eCare however, Sprint is wisely bringing the ridiculous $349 price of the HTC Touch Pro2 down to $199.99 (after MIR) starting October 1st. With the BlackBerry Tour, upcoming HTC Hero and — most importantly — Verizon’s Pro2 coming in at $199, this move was absolutely necessary. The price drop isn’t just good news for Sprint customers though — it would be unbeli...

Oh no, we’re not done just yet ladies and gents. We already know October 6th is going to be a glorious day and now it looks like AT&T subscribers will be able to join in on the fun. Have you been feeling left out, wondering when AT&T would finally launch the HTC Touch Pro2 that is already available from T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon? Dry those eyes, as AT&T apparently had a good reason to hold off on the launch. According to our ninja, AT&T is preparing to launch the Pro2 — dubbed T...

It’s official, Verizon fans — one of the sexiest Windows Mobile handsets to launch this year can be yours starting tomorrow. Just like we exclusively scooped last week, the HTC Touch Pro2 will be available tomorrow, September 11th for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate on a 2-year contract. While $200 is a substantial amount of money of course, it looks like peanuts compared to the insane $349.99 Sprint and T-Mobile are asking. Customers looking to score a Pro2 from Sprint or Tmo shouldn’t ...

Sprint subscribers might be feeling somewhat slighted thanks to the carrier’s poor showing in this morning’s exclusive, but don’t fret. Thanks to an alleged leaked Sprint document, it looks like the HTC Touch Pro2 and Samsung Dash, or Instinct s50 (official successor to the Instinct), are slated to be released on September 3rd. There’s no shortage of info and pics of the Touch Pro2, which will be available on each of the four major US carriers, but the s50 has yet to be seen — of...

The good folks over at T-Mobile always do their best to bring hot new GSM phones to market as quickly as possible. With a subscriber count around 40 million however, manufacturers are seemingly more eager to deal with AT&T and its 80 million-or-so customers more often than not. Keeping that in mind, if T-Mobile can manage to bring the highly sought-after HTC Touch Pro2 to market before its GSM rival, it will definitely be a noteworthy coup. We still have no firm word on when AT&T will be cracking a ch...

Sometimes it takes a little while for everyone to get with the times but better late than never, we say. The still unreleased HTC Touch Pro2 for Telus will be featuring, amongst a host of other awesome specs, a 3.5mm headphone jack (ditching the USB one that came with an adapter) as revealed by an early video review. Hopefully this will be a new and permanent trend for all future HTC devices. The touchscreen/QWERTY hybrid will also be home to Windows Mobile 6.1 with HTC’s famous TouchFlo 3D UI, a 3.2 me...

Call it the HTC Rhodium, call it the HTC Fortress, call it the HTC Touch Pro2 or whatever else you like — the bottom line is the AT&T version of this sexy Windows Mobile handset has just received a green flag from the FCC and we want it now. Proving that big really is beautiful, the Pro2 is probably one of the most attractive Windows Mobile phone that has ever been built in every sense of the word. The giant 3.6-inch sliding/pivoting touchscreen display, the spacious QWERTY keypad, the TouchFLO 3D U...

T-Mobile fans, we’ve got good news and bad news. The good news — internal training on HTC’s Dash 3G (Snap) and Touch Pro2 is set to kick off June 16th on the east coast. In other words, we’re likely very close to seeing both handsets get official. The bad news — training doesn’t wrap up until July 2nd in Baltimore/DC so the rumored July 1st release date for the Dash 3G is pretty much not going to happen. The rumored July 22nd launch for the Pro2 could be on the late side of...

Earlier this week, a Sprint-branded Touch Pro2 was seen gallivanting around and now it is apparently time for its Verizon Wireless counterpart to make a cameo. Posted over a Howard Forums is the Touch Pro2, complete with a Verizon Wireless logo. Of note, it’s missing the typical red interface that characterizes most of the phones in Big Red’s lineup. Red or not, we hope to see this more shots and information on this handset soon. For those keeping score by the way, three of the big four carriers w...

There’s a reason companies around the world often go to HTC when they need to outsource handsets — they’re without a doubt among the best when it comes to build, form and design. This year at CTIA, the HTC Snap announced this morning was the only new addition the company showed off, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take another look at two of the most exciting upcoming handsets currently on deck too, right? Hit the jump and get your gawk on. (more…)

A leaked ROM over at xda-developers suggests that the Touch Pro2, codenamed Rhodium, may be headed to T-Mobile in the not-so-distant future. The ROM is for a device, RHOD21000, with the CID of T-MOB010 — the US country ID also used for the Dash and the Shadow — and has a target language listed as “USA”. The ROM has the usual Windows Mobile fare from both 6.1 and 6.5 including Facebook, YouTube, Opera, the HTC-specific game Teeter and even a MyFaves tab on TouchFLO 3D. So, T-Moblers, ...
