RadioShack is looking to launch a new price-matching program for smartphones on January 29th, according to Sprintfeed. The “Mobile Low Price Guarantee” program will give RadioShack employees the ability to match smartphone prices advertised by competing retailers. Similar programs have already been in place at retailers such as Target, Walmart and Best Buy. With more users turning to smartphones each year, a price-matching program will only benefit the consumer. RadioShack currently carries smartphones for AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Wireless.

BGR has learned that RadioShack will be offering a limited-time sale on all AT&T iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 models beginning Sunday, December 11th. The nationwide retailer will discount each iPhone 4 and 4S model by $29, and the iPhone 3GS will remain free on contract. AT&T’s iPhone 4 8GB and its older iPhone 4 16GB models will each be offered for $69.99 on contract, down from $99, and the carrier’s 32GB model will cost $169.99. BGR has confirmed with multiple RadioShack locations that both older iPhone 4 models are still in stock. Apple’s new iPhone 4S will be available starting at $169.99 for the 16GB AT&T model. The iPhone 4S 32GB will cost $269.99 during the sale and the 64GB model will be discounted to $369.99. All sale pricing requires a new 2-year service contract. It is unclear how long RadioShack’s sale on all AT&T iPhone models will run, and a company spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

As we reach the end of the workday, hordes of iPhone hopefuls are likely getting ready to pack it in and head to their local retailer in an effort to score a shiny new iPhone 4S. As popular as the device has been around the country however, stock-outs are a definite possibility. After all, Sprint and AT&T have both announced record sales and the day isn’t even over. According to an email from a RadioShack spokesperson, The Shack might just be your best bet. “iPhone 4s enthusiasts who are still looking to get their device late this afternoon or over the weekend will find them at their nearby RadioShack,” the company said in the emailed statement. “RadioShack has the iPhone 4S available in 3,000 stores nationwide, and available through its ‘Direct2U’ program in all stores nationwide — customers can buy iPhone 4S at any RadioShack location and have it shipped directly to their homes. Availability of specific configurations (carrier, white vs. black, 16GB vs. 32GB) may vary somewhat across locations. It’s recommended customers call their local store for information.”

We just received this image of an internal RadioShack email that clearly shows RadioShack stores are receiving unmarked shipments on Tuesday or Wednesday this week. These deliveries, the note states, “must not be opened for any reason” until stores are told to do so by corporate. RadioShack is instructing employees to place the shipments in a secure location, to mark that the shipments can’t be opened, and it notes that RadioShack will be sending auditors to locations to make sure instructions are followed and the packages have not been tampered with. Any employee found to have disobeyed the company’s instructions will be subject to termination. What’s not clear is why RadioShack would be receiving any Apple-related merchandise early, though it could possibly be iPhone-related accessories and/or sales materials.

RadioShack on Tuesday announced the upcoming exclusive availability of Sprint’s flagship HTC EVO 3D smartphone in white. The handset will become available on September 9th, and it will be priced in line with the standard EVO 3D at $199.99. Sprint’s premier Android smartphone has been a big seller for the nation’s No. 3 carrier. The EVO 3D features a 4.3-inch qHD 3D display, a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and dual cameras for recording 3D content, and we said it was our favorite Sprint phone, hands down when we reviewed it in mid-June.

Verizon Wireless products and services have been noticeably absent from RadioShack’s wireless portfolio, but that comes to an end this fall. The nationwide retailer on Tuesday announced an agreement that will finally see it begin to offer devices from the country’s top carrier on September 15th. At the same time, The Shack announced that it will stop selling T-Mobile products and services a day earlier on September 14th. Following the company’s second-quarter earnings report, which saw net income slide 53% from the same quarter last year, RadioShack stock climbed 7% on the news. “This is a substantial win for our customers, as this relationship with the nation’s largest wireless provider will further enhance our position as a leading multi-carrier wireless retailer,” RadioShack CEO Jim Gooch said in a statement. ”The addition of Verizon Wireless, in combination with our existing carrier partners, positions us to now offer the best assortment of carriers, rate plans, devices and accessories for every consumer need.” RadioShack’s full press release follows below.

According to a RadioShack advertisement spotted by Phandroid, the store could begin shipping the highly anticipated HTC EVO 3D from Sprint on June 24th. The retailer began quietly taking pre-orders on May 17th, which suggests an imminent release, so June 24th certainly seems like it’s in the right ballpark. When it launches, the EVO 3D will be the first 3D smartphone to land on a carrier’s shelves in the United States. We were impressed with the glasses-free 3D display during our hands-on at CTIA earlier this year and we’re definitely excited to get our hands-on a review unit as soon as possible so we can spend more time putting it through its paces.

RadioShack began taking pre-orders for Sprint’s HTC EVO 3D last week, and now the phone’s price tag may have been confirmed to be $200, or $500 off contract. An apparent leaked advertisement suggests that the device will also come with Green Hornet 3D pre-loaded, and it looks like anyone who trades in an HTC EVO 4G or HTC EVO Shift will be able to knock $100 off the purchase price. Unfortunately there still aren’t any details on a specific launch date, but if you want to get your EVO 3D with a hint of Seth Rogen, you may want to head over to your local RadioShack now.

We just got off the phone with a number of RadioShack locations, and each one has confirmed that the retailer is now quietly taking pre-orders for Sprint’s HTC EVO 3D. We were told that, interested users should rush to the store as pre-order quantities are very limited. Employees did not confirm when the EVO 3D would be available for pickup, although we suspect it won’t be a very long wait. Best Buy also began taking pre-orders earlier this month, but it too neglected to reveal when the phone would become available. We went hands-on with the EVO 3D during CTIA and were impressed by its glasses-free 3D display. We also loved the solid, albeit beefy, industrial design.

RadioShack quietly announced on Monday that it is now offering AT&T’s Inspire 4G for just $29.99 with a two-year contract for new AT&T customers and existing subscribers looking to upgrade. Though the Inspire is still a relatively young device that was just released in February, newer dual-core smartphones are already making it look a tad gray up top. Its specs are still respectable, however, and they include a 4.3-inch display, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.2 (Froyo), an 8-megapixel camera, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of storage and HTC’s Sense UI. RadioShack’s price is the lowest we’ve seen from a reputable retailer, and it’s good from now through May 21st.

RadioShack has slashed the price of T-Moile’s LG G2x to just $99 for today only. The G2x is one of the hottest Android devices available and it rocks a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 8 megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p HD video, and has a stunning 4-inch 800 x 480 pixel display. It’s even getting the latest Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update soon. We fawned over the G2x even at its original $199 price point in our review, so if you’re a T-Mobile customer this is definitely a deal you’ll want to be taking advantage of.[Via Phone Arena]

Reuters is reporting that this quarters pedestrian earnings filed by electronics retailer RadioShack has something to do with the wireless industry. Citing RBC Capital analyst Scot Ciccarelli, the publication notes that “RadioShack gave up a lot of compensation from AT&T and Sprint to carry T-Mobile [equipment], and this partnership doesn’t appear to be panning out the way management expected.” The news comes nearly one year after RadioShack executive Jim Gooch stated that T-Mobile had “materially breached its contract” with the retailer. RadioShack has lowered its earnings estimates for fiscal year 2011 — analysts cite weak demand and stiff competition in the retail and online spaces as potential causes.

We just received confirmation that RadioShack has begun accepting pre-orders for RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. You can reserve yours for now $499, and RadioShack says it will be available starting on April 19th. The PlayBook sports a 7-inch touchscreen display with 1024 x 600-pixel resolution. It’s powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, runs RIM’s sleek new QNX operating system designed for tablets, has 1GB of RAM, and offers both a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera and a 3-megapixel forward-facing camera for video chat. We’ve had plenty of hands-on time with the PlayBook and are excited by the concept, but we’ll take a much deeper dive once we review the device. Toys R’ Us may begin selling the iPad 2 next month according to a report from enthusiast site ModMyi. The site’s source provided a leaked screen shot that shows employee training software as well as a secondary product knowledge sheet. Apple’s latest tablet has been wildly popular since its launch on March 11th so this is good news for consumers trying to get their hands on a unit. As of late March, Apple began replenishing the stock in some retail stores, and its online store says that customers still have to wait 2-3 weeks for new orders to ship. The iPad 2 is also available from AT&T, Best Buy, RadioShack, Target, Verizon Wireless and Walmart, among other retailers. Toys R’ Us has not yet officially announced plans to offer the iPad 2.
