If you’ve been on pins and needles waiting for more information about the Droid X, today looks to be a pretty good day. According to Droid-Life, the site that has been absolutely crushing it when it comes to this particular phone, the Droid X will make its Verizon debut on July 19th. It goes without saying that this is a rumor, but apparently all of this will be made official next week. We can’t wait. Can you? (more…)

There’s no denying that the Droid X floodgates are wide open now. Over at the Android Forums some new photos of the device have emerged by way of user matrix2004. Far more fascinating than the typical leaked images, what makes these ones special is that the show off the X next to EVO 4G, iPhone 3G and Droid Eris giving us a good idea of its size. No surprises here, but it’s absolutely massive. Other things of note in the image are some of the custom widgets that come along with “Shadow BLUR&...

Speaking to reporters after a presentation at the Executive Club, Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha said that his company will soon be announcing up to four handsets — presumably Android — that are capable of making video calls through front-facing cameras. Even though Jha said he has “never been a great believer” in video calling, he admitted that it is something that should be added to handsets, especially in light of the release of the EVO 4G and upcoming iPhone 4. In other Motorola news, Jh...

The crazy cats over at Droid Life are back once again with yet another leak of the Motorola MB810 which Droid Life claims will be sold as the Droid Xtreme and not the Droid Shadow. In the past we have seen this phone from various angles, but this is the first time we’ve ever seen its backside. Two things to take away from these pics. First is the camera which is clearly labelled as 8 megapixels with HD video and is flanked by a dual-LED flash. The second thing is UI customization. We’ve already s...

You can call it the Shadow, you can call it the Droid EXTREME, and you can even call it the DROID XTREME, but we say it should simply referred to as what it really is: sexy. Two new images of the Motorola MB810 have leaked out via Droid Life. According to their tipster who sent in the photos, the phone runs Android 2.2 aka Froyo and has 9 user customizable homescreens. The device is said to feel “very metal” and comes with a questionably located dedicated camera button. MOTOBLUR is claimed to be a...

Remember the guy that leaked the first clear image of the Motorola Shadow? No, not the live image, but the pic as seen on the user guide? Well he’s back and has brought with him yet another pic of the highly anticipated smartphone. But along with this leak comes the revelation that previous rumors were a bit off in the spec department. Instead of 4.3″, the WVGA display is 4.1″ diagonal. And that 16GB of internal memory? Apparently it’s actually a combination of 8GB internal and 8GB r...

If this isn’t the product of Photoshop, then what we’re looking at here is the Motorola Shadow. Allegedly found lying around in a Verizon corporate gym, the employee that found the Big Red exclusive claims they were able to confirm rumored specs which include a 4.3″ WVGA display, 8 megapixel camera with 720p video recording, 16GB of internal memory, Snapdragon processor and HDMI out. Of course these claims — and the entire story for that matter — beg the question “why were...

Could this be the Motorola Shadow? According to HoFo user wnrussell, it is. Spotted with DROID branding in what appears to be a draft copy of a user guide, the Shadow looks to be sporting some sort of custom overlay that’s more than likely the oft-rumored update to MOTOBLUR. Just in case you’re memory is a bit rusty, here’s what we think the Shadow is all about: 4.1″ to 4.3″ WVGA display, 8 megapixel camera with 720p video recording, and a TI OMAP3630 processor. Other rumors have...

A mysterious new Motorola smartphone — the A955 — was recently certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance for 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. The model number is new to us, but according to a week-old tweet from someone who monitors Android device signatures, the A955 is indeed the DROID 2, aka Shadow, and has been spotted cruising about the interwebs on Verizon’s EV-DO network. This flies straight in the face of an older rumor which pegged the model number as being the MB810. But think about it..all of Verizon...

Hmm… so we’ve got an update to the Samsung Propel, have we? More or less, yes, this is as we’re told, the Samsung Propel Pro and it brings pro-level features with it. Things like Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, an optical joystick (which our ninja says is absolutely worthless), 3G, and we’d guess a camera and what not. We haven’t been told anything other than that the QWERTY keyboard is pretty decent, but we’re still in the dark on a release date, pricing, and the usual ever-i...

After the long and arduous wait for the most hardcore Shadow fans, your day has come. Just like we promised, it is now available for your calling and messaging pleasure. This new iteration of the popular HTC device sports a faster processor and also supports T-Mobile HotSpot@Home, which makes it the first Windows Mobile phone to have that feature, and also means it has Wi-Fi (great news since it’s lacking in the HSDPA department). For $149.99 with a two-year contract and qualifying data plan, this is a ...
